Examples function on the website

Hi everyone

The examples function on our website confuses me a bit. The translated English on the right side does not seem to be accurate right ?? For example: I saw this sentence

Y ahora queremos introducir un vehiculo electricio normarlizado en la Union Europea was translated to "we now want a standardised electric car in the European Union and many other sentences does". I expect a verb "introduce" in that English sentence

and many other sentences. I just wanna make sure the translation is not correct all the time so I can refer more from other different sources.

Thanks

Send it to support@spanishdict.com There isn't anything we can do from here, but they will fix it, so let them know. :) - rac1, Aug 22, 2016

Hi, Dang,

You're right. Sometimes the examples are a little off. If you're not sure about something, just run it by us, and we will help to get it right for you.

ok thanks Daniela, it's a bit crazy because sometimes it misleads me when I try to figure out the verb meaning. :-) - danghuynh, Aug 22, 2016
Dang best not to try to figuree out the verb meaning from the machine, it will help you more to observe and understand the way that native speakers express ideas ;) - FELIZ77, Aug 22, 2016

Hello Dang,

Unfortunately, translator machines are limited in their capacity (ability) to be accurate at the best of times so I am not really surprised by your experience and by what you have just received! wink (As you can see, I don't have much confidence in them)

They have some limited ability to translate sentences that follow the logical rules of a particular language, whether Spanish, French, Portuguese or any other language, but because they have to be programmed, unlike our brains which have the ability to adapt and process new data without further programming, they will be of limited effectiveness or next to useless in translating complex sentences or those such as idioms which cannot be translated literally!

As Daniela graciously said, you can always run these sentences by us, by simply posting what you have received whenever you a receive a nonsensical response and we as a community will do our best in helping you make sense of it and will tell you how best to say it in Spanish or in English!

I hope this helps smile
