We teach them just a few at a time. The students probably get half of them by the end of the first semester. - Daniela2041, Jul 29, 2016

A friend of mine in Bolivia wrote a thesis on prepositions and compared English prepositions with the lack of them in Quechua.

This is his introduction.

The function of the preposition in the English syntax structure is quite thought provoking.

The fact that the preposition is a key element in the syntax structure domain as well as in the meaning domain makes it the focus of this research.

The Quechua language, on the other hand, being a clustered language, does not have a preposition-like word in its syntax structure.

In the Quechua syntax structure, a suffix works as a preposition.

The place this preposition-like word takes in the syntax structure, therefore, is characterised by being structurally different and probably by representing a cultural feature that renders an important cultural difference between English and Quechua.
