I tried using the Translator and struck out . Can someone tell me how to say "chiggers" in Spanish please

There is some difference of opinion regarding this. The differences are regional.

I read about chiggers in the internet, I think that the translation would be "acaros". They are common in the animals. In the humans, would be "piojos", the ones that make you scratch your head.

Aprendí que “piojos” = “lice” (y liendre= nit), “pulgas”= “fleas” y “ácaros”= mites (que no son insectos), y “chinches”= “bugs” (de varios tipos, incluyendo “bedbugs”) y son insectos. - bosquederoble, Jul 26, 2016
