There is a cd by Jesse y joy called "con quien se queda el perro?" And I was wondering why do we need to say "se queda?" Why can't we just say "con quien queda el perro?"

Hi! I'm not really sure, but l'll give it a guess! ''Quedar'' is to cause someone to stay, or to express the act of remaining somewhere with the influence of another person. For example if someone ''is left (by someone)'' somewhere you'd use quedar. In this case quedarse means to stay in place, that's it, no one else involved in the action, the dog is staying by itself.

I think they could've used both verbs in this case, but l'd wait for a native to confirm. ;D
