I don't believe there is a non-slang word for a person with a fetish for shoes. Even in English. If there is, I couldn't find it.

In Spanish you would say that "Tal persona tiene fetiche por zapatos."

"Sneakers " was a slang word fir runners when I was a boy. - ray76, Jul 18, 2016
Zapato obsesionado. We still call them "Sneakers " or "runners" I think that the English say "Trainers" . - ray76, Jul 18, 2016
Yes we do call them Trainers. :) - ian-hill, Jul 18, 2016
Perhaps "fetiche por tenis" instead of "fetiche por zapatos." - jtaniel, Jul 18, 2016
The OP specified "shoes." If it is for "tennis shoes" then "tenis" would be appropriate. - Daniela2041, Jul 18, 2016
You are correct (of course). But in "common" usage, sneakerheads love sneakers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sneaker_collecting - jtaniel, Jul 18, 2016

Welcome to the forum. Can you add your level of Spanish and English to your profile eg if you are fluent in one and a beginner or intermediate in the other.

I had to look up sneakerhead - there is a wiki entry for it and one in Portuguese too but not Spanish.

It is something that will be popular in areas of the world where young people have lots of money to spend - in the UK the best known footballers all have deals with the main brands. However, in many areas of the world just owning footwear is difficult. However, I don't know a Spanish word for it. I assume you are based in the USA so why not try like minded friends?

In the UK different trainer makes are noticed and commented on but I assume those that are keen would just adopt the American word in this global world. In Spain they sometimes refer to them as 'tenis'

We do use petrolhead for someone keen on cars.

¡Hola, amigos! I just returned from vacation/holiday, which included a week in Mallorca, Spain. Great time, but more about that in a separate thread.

As for this thread, there are a lot of words that are combined with another to show a keen interest or obsession with it, besides "-head.". Some of these are:

Fanatic, buff, nut, groupie, fan, addict, maniac.

Daniela, or anyone, are there any Spanish language suffixes or prefixes, or words like the above, that might be used by Spanish-speakers? Like maybe "tenis fanático"? Or if you're from Wisconsin, "queso cabeza"?
