Welcome to La Palabra Del Día

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

2: Hay mucho tráfico aéreo sobre la isla durante el verano.

Just a comment, which you may know, the inclusion of se makes it passive- The photographs were analyzed. I believe it works, and indeed conveys similar info, either way, so this is just clarification. :) - bosquederoble, Jul 9, 2016

Yes, when you are in the military, you can bum rides on Air Force planes... which I did often. Once from Hawaii to North Dakota, in a KC-135, where I got to help refuel a fighter jet over the Rockies. Woo hoo! - jrschenk, Jul 9, 2016

I agree, it would be "hacía" instead of "hace"; the word "plane" in this case means "avión" instead of "plano." And just a suggestion, when you talk about "avión" in Spanish, you reffer to comercial flights, and the fighter jet would be a "caza." - AnaCorrea, Jul 10, 2016

In nineteen fifty-nine a scientist, Dr. Bela Julesz, discovered random dot stereograms when he identified camouflaged objects in areal photos taken by spy planes. Me encantan los deportes aéreos aunque nunca me atrevería a probarlas. Para mi le da una prueba que la humanidad quiere volar libremente , no solo en el interior de un avión.
