Hi everyone,

I hope you can help correct something for me. I will write in English first what I would like to say then have a go at it in Spanish. I look forward to your corrections. Thank you so much.

“I listened to this song a lot when I bought my ticket home, but now after an emotional month in the UK I am listening to it again, but now I have realised that I think of Cali as my real home. I am so excited to be coming home! See you soon Cali!“

“Escuché mucho esta cancion cuando compré mi boleto a inglaterra, pero despues un mes lleno de emociones, estoy escuchando la cancion otra vez y me he dado cuenta que Cali es mi verdadero hogar. Estoy muy emocionada volver a casa. Hasta pronto Cali!“

Thank you for your help!

Your English translation doesn't match your Spanish, but both have the same message and appear to be correct.

You merely missed two accents. "canción" "después" (which also requires "de" here.)

Me he dado cuenta de que---, Estoy muy emocionada de volver-----

Muchas gracias Daniela. I think the only thing that is different is that I should have written “my ticket to England“ instead of “my ticket home.“ - Wigzee, Jun 27, 2016
Oh and I wrote “Cali es mi verdadero hogar“ because I don´t know how to say “I think of Cali as my real home“. How would I say that? - Wigzee, Jun 27, 2016
Mmmm I need to learn about “de“´s!! Thank you very much for your help - Wigzee, Jun 27, 2016
Hiya Wig I think you could say I think of (consider) Cali as my real home = Considero que Cali es mi hogar verdadero /o hogar real. I hope this helps :) - FELIZ77, Jun 27, 2016
Thank you Feliz77, that definitely helps :-) - Wigzee, Jun 27, 2016

In addition:

“Escuché mucho esta canción cuando compré mi boleto a inglaterra,

This phrase sounds confusing because it only takes a few miuntes to buy a ticket and it only takes a few minutes to listen to a song, but you say you listened to it a lot. I have to guess that during an extended time that you heard this song a lot and you happened to buy a ticket. If this is the case, it should be something like: En la época / temporada cuando escuchaba mucho esta canción, compré un boleto a Inglaterra ..............

... estoy escuchando la cancion otra vez ...

This part would sound more natural like this: ... escucho la misma canción de vuelta...

Thanks Julian. The song is called “coming home“ and I meant that after I bought my ticket I listened to the song a lot because I was excited about going home. Does that make a difference to how I would say it? Thank you! - Wigzee, Jun 27, 2016
In that case, you should say: "Después de comprar (haber comprado) el boleto, escuchaba mucho la canción...." It should still be imperfect because it was habitual action - 005faa61, Jun 28, 2016
