¿Arruinar o ruinar?

Question

¿Cuál es más común? ¿Arruinar o ruinar? Es que he leído ambos y he escuchado ambos en el mismo contexto. Sólo quiero saber cuál es más común entre los dos en las regiones diferentes hispanohablantes.

Which is more common? "Arruinar" or "ruinar"? It's just that I've read both and heard both in the same context. I only want to know which is more common between the the two in the different Spanish-speaking regions.

Estoy de acuerdo de que arruinar se usa con más frecuencia de ruinar en México, pero ten en cuenta que hay sólo una forma de sustantivo la cual es la ruina.

Arruinar is correct. I never heard the word "ruinar". Perhaps the word is "ruina", wich could mean and ancient/historic place, like Chichen Itzá, or falling in poverty. Su negocio cayó en la ruina (his business broke)
