is this right: El carro mi madre haciá era es el Lincoln. El carro fue largo, rápido y plateado. ANTHROPOLOGIST 1 minute ago I'm trying to say The car my mom had was a Lincoln. The car was long, fast, and silver.

El coche que tenía mi mamá era un Lincoln, era largo, rápido y color plata.

Even though "carro" is used in some countries to indicate "car", "coche" is better because "carro" also means a train car. The car is not made of silver, so you must say "color plata".

Gracias Julian - SD's dictionary says "plateada/o" is an adj. for silver (see def. 2) whereas "plata" is the noun silver. Can you advice how "plata" is functioning here (adj. or noun) and if "plateado" is ever used as an adj. like SD suggests? - jellonz, Jun 21, 2016

@ jellonz, "plata" alone means only the material silver, coins and slang for money. "Color plata" is the color, although the RAE does say that "plateado" can be used the color, but I think it must be regional. Also note that "platear" is only "to plate".. - 005faa61, Jun 21, 2016
