I think that it's just a nickname for "Catalina" or Catherine in English.

Since your name is Cathy, "Cata" would be an endearing way to address you. It´s also easier for Spanish speakers to say "Cata" rather than "Cathy" because the TH sound is difficult to pronounce.
As Daniala said, it´s also a short name for "Catalina". I´ve never heard the name "Catalalina" that she mentions.
