Being In Love And Just Being Attached

Question

Hello,

I'm looking for the right word to "being attached" oppsed to "being in love" referred to this article:

To "love" would be "amor" or "querer", but it is so unclear to me, what would be the right one to "attached"...?

"Amar" to love deeply--used for family or romantic love.

"Querer" to love in a romantic or family sense, but it is not as profound.

"Enamorarse de alguien" --to fall in love with someone. "Estar enamorado/a de alguien." --"to be "in love" with someone.

To be "attached" to someone does not make sense in Spanish . Sometimes we use "tener afición a." Or some body "me gusta."

One can say ," they are so much in love that they are attached at the hip" . - ray76, Jun 16, 2016

Hi Szvarga, I am a native English speaker, and I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "attached." More context or an example sentence would be helpful. "I am very attached to my cat" means I feel fondly toward it and would not give it away. "The baby is attached to that blanket" means the baby "loves" that blanket and needs to have it with him at all times. "Those sisters are really attached to each other" means they are always together, presumably because of love for one another. I think the best synomym for attached in English is "to be bonded to."

I don´t understand "attached" either - or your second explanation. If someone wants to indicate that he has some kind of relationship with somebody, he can say, ie: "Estoy con Mónica."

This doesn´t indicate love, marriage or necessarily living together, but just that the two people have some kind of relationship. I doubt that there is any single word that discribes your explanation.

One can have an unhealthy attachment to someone as in a stalker. - ray76, Jun 16, 2016

"does not make sense"? Oh, it's really interesting. I'm sure, there is a kind of relation in Spain too (if not, i'm moving on immediately, which based on fear of loss, possession, addiction instead of confidence and selflessness. That's what i'm looking the term for.
