Reflexive verbs in the infinitive

Hi! I don't understand why the two questions i got wrong are supposed to be in the infinitive. Is it the general rule that verbs following "antes de" are supposed to be in infinitive form? Also, for the second sentence I got wrong, I don't get what the sentence is saying.

Thanks

Yes, it should be "antes de acostarme." and also "para poder despertarme."

Many times in Spanish infinitives are used where we would use a present participle in English.

The first example being "before going to bed/lying down"

Second example is different. It get's translated as an infinitive. "--in order to be able to wake up"

After certain expressions, such as "antes de" " después de" and "para" the infinitive is used.

Here is a link to a great article on this subject.
