There is a search engine under the words "Ask A Question". If you type in Leismo you will get many posts about this Spanish phenomenon. It might be helpful for you to read them. - Jubilado, Jun 12, 2016

La tv is the direct object. What I don't see well? The tv set.

No veo bien la tv= no la veo bien

In the second sentence the tv set is the indirect object. ¿que le pasa (a la televisión).?

Take note that the a can indicates you the indirect object

Edited. -------*****-------

Like in the real life ,you could do two things in this situation:

I cant ear well the radio device.

No oigo bien la radio. ( with context ) no la oigo bien.

1- give it more volume.

1- daLE más volumen( a la radio).

2-put it closer.

2-acercaLA (acerca la rádio)

-----------' Mary is speaking I can ear her but I can't understand her.(What she is telling)

Maria está hablando yo puedo oírla pero no puedo entenderle( entender a Maria lo que dice)

---Mary wrote a letter in English with the instructions ,and I can't understand it.

Maria escribió una carta en inglés con las instrucciones y no puedo entenderla ( entender la carta)(For example: I don't speak English).

Mary wrote a letter in English with the instructions ,and I can't understand them.

Maria escribió una carta en inglés con las instrucciones y no puedo entenderlas ( entender las instrucciones)(For example: they are a very complicated instructions ).

thank uou it make sense now. can you provide me more example to see if i undrestand it well or no. the only thing is someone told me LE is for persons and LA/LO is refer to things and this made me confused - blacksword, Jun 11, 2016
Direct object. La/las/lo/los.(You can use le as D.O. for referring to a male person, but if it confuses you, just use lo).Indirect object le/les. - 000a35ff, Jun 12, 2016

Both the sentence and the question are confusing to me. No veo bien la television = Means that maybe there is something wrong with YOUR eyes. You cannot see clearly what is happening on tv. ¿Que le pasa? = Here you are asking what's wrong with the t.v. Maybe it's time to have the t.v. serviced.

Besides, the word televisión means what is being broadcasting on t.v. while the word televisor means the electrical device. So be careful, in English television works in both senses.

probably the DO is TV not eyes in this case because if it was the eyes in the second parts Que le pasa, the LE should turn to les because is in relation with ojos not ojo - blacksword, Jun 12, 2016
