Telenovela - El Internado Laguna Negra

I just finished watching all the episodes of "El Internado" on Netflix. It's my favorite telenovela so far! Though very different from "El Internado", I also really liked "El Tiempo Entre Costuras". "Gran Hotel" is good too. My least favorite, so far, is "Velvet", but I'm still watching it. Do you have any favorites? Do you know of any other telenovelas that are similar to "El Internado"? ¡Gracias!

I am watching my first telenovela. It's called "Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso" and is on netflix. I think it's great. I'm addicted. Maybe because I only understand half of what's going on. There's a lot of crazy plot elements and overacting. But after watching 122 episodes of this 167 episode series, I'm beginning to pick up what they're saying with the help of the Spanish subtitles. I also like that they use lots of common words . Not many deep discussions.

Long time ago I watched Las Juanas. I really liked it.

The one I recommend the most is Pedro el escamoso. Pedro is a macho man whose gay boss fell in love with him. Very funny.

My mother was a fan of Betty la fea.

I am not from Colombia, but I must acknowledge that Colombians are the kings of telenovelas.

I usually watch some things on rtve . I have been interested on some things on Antena 3 but cannot access from the UK. I have looked at some things on youtube.

A friend liked El Barco which was on Antena 3

I tend to watch more documentary content like página 2 about books and un país para comerselo - food/travel/ music.

I have watched operacion Jaque - only has 2 episodes - about Bettancourt's kidnapping in Colombia

operación Jaque

rtve under a la carta series has a huge amount of series both new and very old - some of the archived series were first shown in the sixties when Spain had Franco in charge and censorship.

One who likes football has enjoyed Pelotas

Pelotas

Another wine -

Gran Reserva

I have watched some of al fil de la ley a sort of LA Law set in Madrid but not so glamorous. I find some of the dialogue difficult to follow.as they speak fast.

Al fil de la ley.

The more recent series on rtve have subtitles and a transcript available.

You can always watch excerpts on Youtube.

If you just want to get a feel for the language there is always

los misterios de Laura

I assumed you would watch mainly Colombian and Mexican. Like to see further recommendations - Mardle, Jun 11, 2016
Actually, the Spanish Telenovelas are my favorite. I tried to watch the Mexican version of "Gran Hotel" called "El Hotel de los Secretos". It was awful. - Helind, Jun 12, 2016

I loved this one:

El Tiempo Entre Costuras - The Time Between Seams

I also liked the Colombian remake of Breaking Bad. Metásisis.

Both are on Netflix.

I also loved El Secretario. Funny story about a man secretary.

There is a newish telenovela on Netflix that I really like called "La Niña". It's about a former child soldier in Colombia trying to start a new life. The acting and writing are very good!
