There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Rota, ciudad litoral de España (donde nací) es un lugar interesantísmo. Tiene de todo. Hay un barrio muy pintoresco adonde acuden todos los a quienes les encantan los barcos.

Rota, costal city of Spain (where I was born) is a fascinating place. It has everything. There is a picturesque barrio where all those who love boats go to. Besides that, there is a fantastic beach. Finally there is a naval base where you see many great ships of the United States.

Ademas hay una playa formidable.

I've never gone fishing there, so I have no idea. I would imagine that it's not too good considering all the boating activity and tourists all over the place. - Daniela2041, Jun 6, 2016

Las ciudades litorales colombianas, Cartagena y Santa Marta, miran al oeste, por eso son dos de los sitios raros en las Américas donde se puede ver la puesta de sol en el oceano Atlántico.

The coastal Colombian cities, Cartagena and Santa Marta, face west, and so they are two of the rare places in the western hemisphere where you can see the sun set in the Atlantic ocean.

Flysh is a German word that could be translated as "land that slides ", which is a rock formation on the coast with the appearance of puff pastry. If you want to observe this flysch you should make the crossing at low tide, when it is exposed.

Well, no comma after Flysh, which should be capitalized, but I misuse commas all the time. :) - bosquederoble, Jun 6, 2016
And it should be Flysch- but I don't correct German either. :D - bosquederoble, Jun 6, 2016
