La Palabra Del Día: "resaca"
resaca ( rreh-sah'-kah )
noun ( undertow; hangover )
Welcome to La Palabra Del Día

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.
Guidelines:
Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Se despertó aquella mañana con una copa de vino en la mano. ¿El vino de quién? ¿Qué vino? ¿Dónde cenó? Creía que fue un sueño, no creía que hubiera ido donde parecía que había ido. Pero quería hacerlo otra vez. Sin embargo es muy probable que tuviera una resaca fuerte, y estoy casi seguro de que no me gusta sentirme como él se sentía.
He woke up that morning with a wine glass in his hand. Whose wine? What wine? Where did he dine? He thought that it was a dream, he did not believe that he had gone where it seemed that he had gone. But he wanted to do it again. Nonetheless it is very likely that he had a terrible hangover, and I am almost certain that I would not like to feel like he did.

Las rechazas pueden ser bastante aterrador. Si alguna vez se encuentra atrapado en una, recorde a nadar paralela a la orilla, en lugar de hacia el.
Undertows can be pretty scary. If you ever find yourself caught in one, remember to swim parallel to the shore, rather than towards it.
