frenesí ( freh-neh-see' )

noun ( frenzy; passion, wild abandon )

Welcome to La Palabra Del Día

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

It's own authority, Porcu, the verb refers to power, which is neuter in English. You're right of course. Although I don't understand the sentences, but they sound right. - annierats, May 31, 2016

Pablo salió del hospital vestido de limpiadora , con bata y etiqueta, según que se llamaba Sandra, y con las llaves de un coche desconocido. Tuvo que dar unas vueltas del aparcamiento del hospital, un aparcamiento muy grande, haciendo ' clic' con las llaves, hasta que un Volkswagen pequeño le respondió con un parpadeo. Pablo quería ver a su madre, era un macho joven español muy típico y por eso entró en el frenesí de la carretera sin más.

Pablo left the hospital dressed as a cleaner, wearing an apron and a label, according to which his name was Sandra. He also carried the keys of an unknown car. He had to circle around in the hospital car park a few times, a big car-park, clicking with the keys, until a small Volkswagen blinked at him. Pablo wanted to see his mother, he was a typical young Spaniard and therefore he entered into the madness of the traffic without further ado.

Creo que nunca he usado esa palabra, ni la he oído más que en el bolero llamado Frenesí, que dice así:

Quiero que vivas solo para mí

y que tú vayas por donde yo voy

para que mi alma sea nomás de ti

bésame con frenesí

I think I’ve hardly ever used that word, or heard it, but in the song called Frenzy, which reads:

I want you to live only for me

And that you go where I go

So that my soul is only yours

Kiss me with frenzy

Today I’ve learned that there is and English version written by Ray Charles and S. K. Russell:

It was fiesta down in Mexico

And so I stopped a while to see the show

I knew that frenesí meant "Please love me"

And I could say frenesí

A lovely señorita caught my eye

I stood enchanted as she wandered by

And never knowing that it come from me

I gently sighed frenesí

(¡Ay, dolor! wink )

Si sospecho que habrá aún un poco de frenesí en cualquier evento, normalmente lo evito, pero a mi esposa le gustan tales cosas, y ha aprendido a planear ciertas excursiones con otros, sin incluso invitarme.

If I suspect that there will be even a little bit of frenzy at some event, normally I avoid it, but my wife likes such things, and has learned to plan certain excursions with other people, without even inviting me.
