Where to put pronouns

Hola,

Yo no sé traducir esta frase correctamente.

La frasa en ingles:
The television distracted me

La frasa en espanol:
La televisión me distrajo O La televisión distrajome

No entiendo donde poner la pronoun a veces.

The RID rule might help, at least for the order

R - reflexive
I - indirect
D- direct

Hi Martyn, me is an indirect object, and in Spanish it is placed before the noun. I know, very confusing. interesting thread here. Have a look.

Thank you for the reply.

I did think about it being reflexive but I discounted it, because for a verb to be reflexive the subject and the object have to be the same - and in this case they aren't, "the television" is different from "me".

Please could you clarify.
