Hi I just want to ask a quick question.

I'm translating the following sentence

''I have talked to a man, whose name is Pedro''

I translated it to:

''He hablado con un hombre, que se llama Pedro''

Is it que se llama or como se llama, I'm a bit confused on the difference.

The exact translation, as lindapace28 says, is "..., cuyo nombre es Pedro"; but the translation that you did "..., que se llama Pedro" is the way you would hear all the time in Spain.

"que se llama Pedro" is also correct.

There are two ways to talk about names. One involves the word "nombre". The other one involves, the expression "llamarse" to call oneself or to be called.

My name is Daniela. Mi nombre es Daniela. (word for word translation)

My name is Daniela. (literally I call myself Daniela) Me llamo Daniela.

To answer your original question, we use que and never como.

Cómo is only used in the question form, so to use it in a statement would not only be incorrect but it would cause a lot of confusion.
