Hola a todos,

I have been practicing Spanish for the past year and a half by now, half of my family is latino so I have been hearing Spanish since birth, so I feel like I have a decent idea of the language but nevertheless would love to gain many more skills. Is there any native Spanish speaker that is willing to help me with my accent? I am most comfortable with the accent from Venezuela, and that is the accent (specifically, Caracas) that I am going for. Please comment your opinions on whether or not this is reasonable, and if anybody is interested.

Gracias!

Might someone in the Latino half of your family help? You didn't say if that half was local/near you.

Alternatively, I learned through using Pimsleur, which is definitely geared to the spoken word, and it really emphasizes that you repeat things just like the native speakers on the audio. This helps immensely with your accent. In fact, a Spanish speaker who lives nearby told me my accent was very good.

Of course, Pimsleur is not necessarily a Venezuelan accent.

Pimsleur is a sort of "non-regional" but somewhat South American. The Venezuelans have a funny (to me) accent. They drop most of their "s's" and do other things that sound strange to me. If you listen to Don Francisco who is on "Univisión" you will hear - Daniela2041, May 16, 2016
a typical Venezuelan accent. ♥ - Daniela2041, May 16, 2016
