I am a MA student in Spanish literature. I use this site frequently and definitely appreciate the services provided. However, I often find myself looking elsewhere for answers because this site causes so many delays and browser crashes. It is very frustrating. I assume this results from the presence of far too many unscrupulous advertisers. Do other users have the same problems? To clarify, when I use spanishdict.com, my browsers stagger, freeze, and crash. My antivirus software is sometimes activated and indicates that the site is untrustworthy. I'd like to continue using spanishdict.com but arrrrgh!

I'm so sorry you are having this problem. I use adblock which helps tremendously. - rac1, May 9, 2016

Yes, it's a common problem for me too. - katydew, May 9, 2016
I agree that the site can definitely be slow. It can be frustrating when it crashes in the middle of the flashcards. Is there anything free that remove the ads? They really slow the site down. - 003251c5, Oct 3, 2016

I am a regular contributor to this site. I, too, have problems, but I also have a good debugger by AVG that gets all the "schmutz" out. When I have a busy day I will usually clear 3 or 4 items out of the registry, 40-50 items from "Windows" and sometimes up to 2000 in my browser.

At times my Firefox browser can't handle it and I have to switch to Google Chrome.

I fully know what you mean, and I sympathize with you. Maybe you should get the AVG antivirus program which also clears out all other forms of schmutz that can get into your computer and slow it down. AVG isn't the only one. There are a lot of good debuggers on the market.

Thank you Daniela. Switching to Chrome solved the problem. This site is now much faster and no longer crashes. - silacci, May 11, 2017
