Why "me encanta"

Question

Hi!

Can anyone please tell me why you're saying "me encanta" or "me gusta"? I thought that you said "me encanto" because the verb is "encantAR", so it should end with -o in first person?

The problem is in the translation.

"Me encanta" is translated as I love it . But literally I love it would be lo amo.

Me encanta literally would be it /he/she enchants me. But it would take other meaning in English

Me encanta/place is the same as it pleasses me in English . It is the same structure as in Englishi - 000a35ff, Apr 23, 2016

What astrotxua was explaining in English is that in English a literal translation would be: "It pleases me or makes me happy." I use it often to express when I am happy to see someone again: "¡Me encanta verte otra vez!"

I understand why the Swedish explanation was you best answer, but I don't understand Swedish so you'll have to tell me if Annie said the same thing that I just did.
