If I want to say 'it will be very different to now', would I say:

-será muy differente de ahora or -será muy differente que ahora

Thanks in advance

Suggestion: This is actually hard to translate word for word, I would go for something like: Desde ahora en adelante , las cosas serán muy diferentes. ( From now on, things will be very different)

Best answer. I didn't understand the English, but your answer made it easy. - Daniela2041, Apr 19, 2016
If I wrote "Things a hundred years ago are very different (to/than/from) now". Would the English make more sense? The posting of sentence fragments is, to me, one of the most irritating things on this site. - gringojrf, Apr 19, 2016
I agree Gringo, you could do this one many ways, depending on the context. And many thanks Daniela! - annierats, Apr 20, 2016

The translator says: Será muy diferente ahora, but if I was to say it, it would be Será muy diferente de ahora.

Aren't prepositions a blast? Americans have never said "different to," but arguments break out about "different from" vs "different than." - AnnRon, Apr 19, 2016
Ann, I would go with ' different from' . But then, I'm just a common European. - annierats, Apr 19, 2016
And I would go with "than" . - gringojrf, Apr 19, 2016
I would use "from". - rac1, Apr 19, 2016
