Noun for 'break-up'
In the context of a relationship.
I'd like to translate:
'The break-up was upsetting'
Thanks, Louis

El rompimento fue desconcernante.
There isn't, at least to my knowledge, a noun. But separación, terminación could be used. But the use of verbs is more common with terminar, romper, dejar all being used.
La separación de mi novia me hace muy triste. Trying to stay true to your original sentence. But this is not at all like a native speaker would approach it. Sometimes it is very hard to follow a literal translation.
Some examples:
Rompí con mi novia Corté con mi novia Lo dejé con mi novia Mi novia y yo lo dejamos
I agree in part with Gringo. A more natural way: Cuando nos cortamos me quedé muy molesto, afectado, triste, etc.
You have to choose among the adjectives to indicate the exact feeling, "up-setting" doesn´t translate well.
The noun "rompimiento" sounds very clinical and even though it´s a real word, I have never heard anyone use it who is in an amorous relationship.
This is a rough translation:
Fue recalcado en la desintegración
La ruptura fue molesta, perturbadora , desconcertante
Lo qu viene a ser un desengaño amoroso
