There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

A los bebés siempre les gusta aletear las manos en el agua de la tina.

Cuando he soñido soñado con volar en el pasado, siempre fue un sueño en el que había estado corriendo con zancadas cada vez mas largas hasta que ya no aterrizó aterrizaba, como si la gravidad había hubiese desaparecido- y nunca involucró aletear con los brazos ni nada así.

When I have dreamed of flying in the past, it always was a dream in which I had been running with strides ever lengthening until I no longer landed, as if gravity had disappeared- and never involved flapping the arms or anything like that.

For me it was running down a hill of about a 40 degree slope then I was soaring above the valley below.. I think we make it seem possible in our dreams. - Jubilado, Apr 12, 2016
Running at his age is all bonus amigos, never mind the flying. ;D - 00cc0117, Apr 12, 2016
..soñado..ya no aterrizaba.. :) - Pablo064, Apr 13, 2016
I just start rising up. :) - rac1, Apr 13, 2016
re-reading it I notice it should be 'como si la gravedad hubiese desaparecido' :) - Pablo064, Apr 13, 2016
Gracias, Pablos, I do not know why I wrote soñido. The rest were honest mistakes, although I should have known it would be como si. :) - bosquederoble, Apr 13, 2016
If I had written it correctly myself, I would have used hubiera, rather than hubiese, as I never use the -ese forms on my own. :) - bosquederoble, Apr 17, 2016

Creo que para estas pequeñas abejas todavía necesitan un tiempo para aletear y volar.

I think these little bees still need a time to flap and fly.

Si pudiera tener alas, yo las aletearía y luego volaría alto en el cielo mirando hacia la tierra.

If I could have wings, I would flap them and then I would fly high in the sky looking back at earth.

I am trying to practise using the condicional together with imperfecto de subjuntivo. In think my sentence is imperfecto - languagenut, Apr 13, 2016
Is the imperfect subjunctive only used when there are different subjects in the clauses? - jennysk, Apr 13, 2016
Pablo will tell us. I hope. jeje - rac1, Apr 13, 2016
Yes you did it perfect! ;) - Pablo064, Apr 13, 2016
So it is ok to use this tense when 'I' is thesubject in each clause? - jennysk, Apr 13, 2016

En nuestra reginón hay muchos postes de luz que parecen colarse en el paisaje pero para las cigüeñas son propriedades de encanto , en primera línea de acceso a las marismas donde las cigüeñas van de compras para su famila y en poco tiempo, quizás a fin de mayo vamos a ver a los jovencitos aletando antes de intentar volar por la primera vez.

In our area there are a lot of electricity pylons, which seem very intrusive in the landscape, but for the storks they are the most desirable properties, right next to the wetlands, where the storks go shopping for their families, and soon, maybe at the end of May, we'll see the little ones flapping their wings before trying to fly for the first time.

Here to keep the eagles off of the power poles they build poles with wooden platforms that the birds use to build their nests. - gringojrf, Apr 12, 2016

Cuando Jerry golpeó a Thomas en la cabeza con una bolade boliche, pajaritos amarillos aletearon alrededor de su cabeza.

When snorkeling one needs to use a fluttering motion with the flippers.

Cuando esnórquelear es necesario aletear las aletas.
