Proofreading the Mexican-American War [2 bumps]
Hi everyone, I'm a first-year Spanish student. Just for fun, I want to translate my History postcard about a Mexican soldier in the Mexican-American war. I used SpanishDict to translated a lot of it, but I checked for basic grammatical errors in the text. Please check my translation and do the best you can to improve it. ~Liu Bang
(We don't make adverbs plural, right?)
We have lost AGAIN! Santa Anna said we had to win this battle of Buena Vista and that it was our only chance at winning this war. However, the American forces were just too strong. We lost hundreds of men in this slaughter. We will get back at them!
¡Acabamos de perder OTRA VEZ! El Santa Anna dijo que nosotros teníamos que ganar esta batalla de Buena Vista y que fue nuestra oportunidad solo a ganar la guerra. No obstante, las fuerzas estadounidenses están verdadaderamente demasiado fuertes. Nosotros perdimos cientos de hombres en esta carniceria. ¡Nosotros pondremos en ellos!

I put each of your sentences in the Translate function here and made a few tweaks to get these corrections to what you wrote. I'm not a native speaker so I hope this is correct and helps. Perhaps some native speaker will verify this.
El Santa Anna dijo que nosotros teníamos que ganar esta batalla de Buena Vista y que fue nuestra sola oportunidad para ganar la guerra.
No obstante, las fuerzas estadounidenses estaban verdaderamente demasiado fuertes.
Nosotros perdimos cientos de hombres en esta carnicería.
¡Nosotros pondremos en ellos! Means "We will get them!"
Would someone, anyone like to help with this proofreading?
