Katydew has reached the fantastic number of 4 thousand badges.
How has she done this? She has done it by cheerfully and enthusiastically joining in every aspect of the forum. She has asked 18 pages of questions!!!
She has methodically improved her written and spoken Spanish. She has not just logged on and enjoyed receiving learning points - that would be too easy. No she has encouraged everyone to learn from her mistakes and revel in whatever gems she has found along the way. She has explained and shared her class dialogues.
I am sure many members attend classes and it is all too easy to enjoy the lesson but have so much else to do that you cannot make time to share - but not our Katy.
In case you have missed her dialogues having asked questions about verbs she has understood what she has been told then started game threads to encourage even the laziest member to improve too.
She has a real talent for starting games - have you all joined in the now 18 identify the Picture game? Tried the translation game or the one based on Art?

She is quick to answer questions too and if she sees a game started by others is flagging she will post to motivate others to continue.
How very lucky we all are to have someone so enthusiastic, motivational and unselfish.
Maybe some people reading this post will think - " I should have acknowledged more of Katy's fantastic posts " - yes, yes she should have reached much more than 4 thousand badges everyone of which have been thoroughly deserved.

Thanks, everyone, for the lovely posts and kind encouragements. I have enjoyed learning here and learn something new from each of you each time I login to SD. You never cease to amaze me with your wit, creativity and knowledge, as well as a yearning to learn Spanish. Although I am not as regular anymore, I always appreciate "seeing" you each and every one when I sign in. It proves that true friends can pick up where they left off. Thanks for all the votes that make the badges possible. It makes it worth posting and running learning threads. I love doing them and appreciate your participation in helping me learn, too.
Those badges are hard to get, but you've done it with ease. Thank you for all your wonderful games and participation on this forum. You deserve the best today and everyday. I'm so happy you are still here with us. Much love, my friend.

Every member must by now be not only aware of the prodigious outpourings
of threads put out by the lovely and talented Katya but be eternally grateful for
the opportunity that they give us to improve our vocabulary and understanding
of this beautiful albeit challenging language. Most of her threads are not merely
fun games but cleverly contrived tests to stretch our knowledge to the limit
and beyond .Katya is one of our most extraordinary teachers and raconteurs.
And for me a great source of fun and frivolity with her rapier like wit.
