fragante ( frah-gahn'-teh )

adjective ( fragrant, sweet-smelling, scented )

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Las flores son fragantes para atraer a los polinizadores, y los olores son distintos de una flor a la otra y dependen de qué insecto la planta "quiere" atraer- siempre es mejor atraer a un insecto especializado en una especie de flor en particular que uno que traiga polen de cualquier flor.

Flowers are fragrant in order to attract pollinators, and the odors are distinct from one flower to another and depend on which insect the plant "wants" to attract- it is always better to attract an insect specialized in one particular species of flower than one that would bring pollen from any flower whatsoever.

El fragante aroma de los tilos en flor a comiencos de verano me trae dulces sensaciones de la infancia perdida.

The fragrant aroma of lime trees in flower in early summer brings me sweet sensations of the lost childhood.

Con este olor tan fragante de su mujer no tardó mucho tiempo en darse cuenta de que estaban en flagrante delito en su mismísima casa, en su verdadera habitación, y por eso se volvió loco.

With this very fragrant scent of his wife, it didn't take him long to discover them in 'flagrante' in his very house, in their very own bed-room and with this he just went mad.
