translating birth certificate

I'm not that good at Spanish. I was hoping for some help. Ok here goes nothing... Estados Unidos mexicanos estad libre y soberano de México. Gobierno del Estado de México. Acta de nacimiento. Oficialia no# 01 libros# 11 actas# 03214 localidades nezahual coyotl fecha de registro día 24, mes 05 , año 1979.. i understand were it saids sex.. but under it I believe it saids the last name of his parents maybe. because it saids his last name but there's a name I never heard of.. primer apellido next to that it saids something similar.

In Mexico a child gets two last names. That of the father and that of the mother

As an example (simplified);

the mother's name is: Maria Gomez Sanchez.

the father's name is Jose Avila Romero.

the child's name will be: Anna (given name(s) Avila Gomez

Each generation the mothers' (maiden names) get dropped.

Also people do not change their names upon marriage. So try finding a couple in the phone book if you only have the wife's or the husband's name and the phone is in the other name....impossible.

Caveat: I think this is correct but wait for a native to answer.

Anyway as to your question there will be two apellidos for the mother and the father and a combination of the two for the child.
