Mucho Gusto?

What is the deal with Mucho Gusto? I looked both words up individually and I found that mucho means 'a lot of', or 'much'. Gusto means 'taste', or 'flavor'. How in the world do you get Nice to Meet You out of Much Taste?

Gusto, clearly related to the verb gustar, which means to be pleased by (and commonly translated as to like) does include "liking"or "pleasure" in it's definition. If you think about- to my taste, to my liking, to my pleasure are related concepts.
