The preterite conjugations of the irregular verb "ir" are written without accent mark. So which vowel should be stressed? I captitalized the stressed vowel, and correct me if I am wrong. fUi, fUiste, fUe, fUimos, fUisteis, fuEron The reason I am asking this is that I heard on recordings on Spanish for Dummies pronouncing like these: fuI, fuIste, fuE, fuImos, fuEron I am not sure which one is the correct stress. Muchas gracias.

When a verb has no accents, there isn't a vowel that needs to be stressed. Pago (I pay) is different from "pagó" (he/she paid). Accents are used to specifically stress a vowel, and when they are absent, there is no forced stress.
