I don't understand why it is ''Estoy Sentado''
Hi, can someone please explain to me, why it is called: I'm Sitting --> Estoy Sentado
and not: Estoy Sentando ?
Isn't it Present Participles?
Btw. is this translated correctly then: They are sitting ---> Estan sentado
Thanks!

It should be "Están sentados".
I am seated .... estoy sentado.
I am sitting down (in the process of putting my pompis on a chair / seat) ... Me estoy sentando.
Hi,
Here, I have found a link for you.

Quote from the link :
Estoy sentado* en el bar.
'Me estoy sentando' means Im actually in the process of moving my but to the chair. It's an action verb.
In English, we say 'we are sitting down' but what we really mean is that 'we are seated.' We do not mean we are getting up and having our buts touch the chair repeatedly.
Hope this helps,

In any case, the correct form would be "Me estoy sentando" and if literaly means "I'm sitting RIGHT NOW"
If you want to say you're sitting(you have been like this for a while or something like that) you must say "Estoy Sentado" because SENTADO is an adjective made from the verb Sentar(se) "to sit"
"Sentado" is the past participle of "sentar" (to seat) and it means "seated"
In Spanish we say I am seated (not sitting.) Females will say "estoy sentada.)

Están sentándose. They are seating, themselves.
