How do you say blessed in Spanish?

Looking through the dictionary for definitions of "blessed", most of them seem to involve God or a priest when describing a blessing or to be blessed but I'm not sure if it's appropriate for what I'm trying to convey.

I'm trying to say, "I'm blessed to have .... " or "He's blessed to have that job ... " etc. Does anyone know the appropriate word to use for blessed in this case? Is it still bendecir or something else? Thanks.

You would use the same word. At least in English. :) - rac1, Mar 12, 2016
I'm blessed to have this job. Blessed equals "bendecido". - 00cc0117, Mar 12, 2016
Soy bendecido/a...( not estoy), I think. Thanks David, it was just a typo. I make many. - annierats, Mar 12, 2016

There are a few different ways you can say it.. "I'm blessed to have..." "Tengo suerte en tener..." "estoy bendecido en tener..." "He's blessed to have that job..." "Tienes suerte en tener ese trabajo..." "El tiene suerte en tener este trabajo..." "Él tiene la bendición de tener este trabajo"

And here is another suggestion, there are many ways of saying you feel blessed, religous or not, it doesn't matter.

You can say: Tengo/tienes suerte de tener ese trabajo.

= I am/he is... fortunate to have that job.

The word 'blessed' does have associations with God blessing a person, so if this not what you mean you can use the word fortunate which is translated by suerte.

I hope this helps : )
