'Sí, nosotros tenemos familia en España'

'Sí, tenemos familia en España'

Do I have to include 'nosotros' in this sentence for it to be correct?

Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, I'm new to learning Spanish.

Muchas gracias!

Hello Natasha, a warm welcome to the SpanishDict forum :) No, it is not a stupid question! We are all learning here, and as a beginner it is understandable that you need to ask questions to learn new things that others already know, so please don't worry - FELIZ77, Mar 11, 2016
about what you think others might be thinking......ask away! ;) - FELIZ77, Mar 11, 2016
I do not think your question is a bad one, and I have been learning "spanish" off and on for 10 years. Welcome. - 00cc0117, Mar 11, 2016

Yes, both mean the same thing.

That "nosotros" is used to emphasize and is not needed since it is in the conjugation of "tener"

Chileno, are you ill? A perfect answer, not cryptical, you must be suffering from a fever. - annierats, Mar 11, 2016
:) The way the question was formulated has a lot to do with how I answer... ;) - chileno, Mar 13, 2016
