Reflexive verb attached to a conjugated verb

Reflexive verb attached to a conjugated verb

In one place SpanishDict states : "When you congugate a reflexive verb, the reflexive pronoun ALWAYS goes before the conjugated verb." In another place SpanishDict states : "Reflexive pronouns can also be used to add emphasis to a seemingly regular situation." and gives the following example: "Estúdiatelo. (Really study it./Study it thoroughly.)" What am I missing?

That really isn't a reflexive pronoun. It is an indirect object pronoun added for emphasis. There is no verb "estudiarse".

True in this case, but in "sientate," wouldn't "te" be a reflexive pronoun attached to the conjugated verb? - AnnRon, Mar 11, 2016
Yes. Sentarse is a reflexive verb. And yes it would be connected as you have shown. - gringojrf, Mar 12, 2016

OK,

Te (you, yourself) lo estudias or Estúdiatelo = study (you/yourself) it.

Would that help?

I'm not a native speaker, so I might be wrong, but I think it's because pronouns CAN be attached to a verb in the imperative mood. Perhaps Spanishdict neglected to mention that exception to the rule?
