I haven't read it, so can't answer, but do you mean "el encaje roto", not rojo: http://elpais.com/diario/2011/02/05/andalucia/1296861728_850215.html - bosquederoble, Mar 9, 2016

This sounds like part of a homework assignment for an advanced Spanish class. Perhaps university level. - Daniela2041, Mar 9, 2016

welcome to the forum.

Can you add your level of Spanish and English to your profile? You may want to edit your title as the lace is torn not red.

Unless someone has studied this text they will not be able to answer the question. If there is a phrase or idiom you do not understand, then by all means ask, but I doubt someone will write your assignment. I remember having to read a difficult text from Arrancame la Vida - that is the way we learn

Here is the text - I might read it out of interest, so thank you for mentioning it.

Encaje roto

For others there is an audio and the words. You may be up for the challenge as it is a short story
