There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Encargó a su hija que regara el jardín. / She asked / charged her daughter to water the garden.

Ya hemos encargado el sofá a la tienda. / We’ve already ordered the sofa from the shop.

Su hijo se encarga del negocio familiar. / Their son is in charge of the family business.

El ayuntamiento se encargará de la restauración. / The council will be responsible for the restoration work.

Prometieron encargarse de hacer las reservas. / They promised to make the bookings.

¿Quién se encarga del niño? / Who will look after the baby?

En mi experiencia de trabajo había ocasionalmente personas que tuvieron tenían doctorados en química quienes se encargaron para encargaban del personal pero no sabía como dirigirlos.

En mi casa me encargo de ganar el dinero y mi esposa se encarga de gastarlo el dinero, pero a pesar de esto me permite tener una tarjeta de crédito porque cree que cuando salimos a un restaurante, debería parecer que yo pago.

In my house, I am responsible for earning the money and my wife is responsible for spending it, but despite this she allows me to have a credit card because she thinks that when we go to a restaurant, it should look like I am paying.
