Guide to 'se'

Guide to 'se'

As you all may know, se is very complicated for beginners like me. I read many articles about the use of 'se' but I am still having trouble.

My question is: Is there any guide where I can find everything about 'se', or will it become easier with practice?

By the way...se retiró volviendo (he returned back) I guess...could it be said: el retiró volviendo?? or retiró volviendo?

Thanks

Everything? Of course not! I provided this link in another answer recently; it is as good a starting point as any. (Follow the "full lesson" links there.)

will it become easier with practice

Of course!

I'm not sure that "he returned back" is very good English, nor "retiró volviendo" very good Spanish.

I could see "he returned back" in sentences like "He returned back to me" (where "back to me" is a prepositional phrase), but I don't think "return back" exists as a verb. - HackerKing, Feb 24, 2016

Similar to what jtaniel posted, I'm not sure a definitive guide to everything would exist.

That said, I found this reference to be pretty useful
