General tips/help on writing
Hey!
Im a beginner when it comes to spanish, and on the coming thursday Ill have a pretty big test involving writing a text (~half an A4)without any help.
Its not as easy as "just describe the word you cant directly translate", because my spanish is very very very limited. Id like just some good phrases which come in handy a little bit of everywhere (like the newest addition "cosa"!), and something i should bear in mind when writing this little text.
PS. We dont know the subject until we actually write the test.

Hi I am so impressed with your language skills/ Mandarin or Cantonese , Swedish and English at a high level! Your English knowledge will help your Spanish, but I do not know how the Swedish language is structured so do not know if that helps.
I looked some things up from sites I know to help you - I will add some links - but then I read your profile. Have you now studied some of the past tenses? Have you been taught the imperative? When you say you have learned the future tense, is that the actual tense or using ir a? My links may be advanced.
I assume you have not learned the subjunctive mood.
- useful expressions The above is from the Oxford Dictionaries. If you use word reference one dictionary is Oxford and the other with more idioms is Collins
2, Spanish.com vocabulary The above site has good explanations. This link deals with suffixes and prefixes which is a way to increase your vocabulary. Our teacher is always pointing out patterns where for example a verb can become a noun or an adverb or adjective. In Spanish you can say con + the noun or add mente to the feminine form of the adjective.
- Transparent Blog I find this site a treasure trove. One of the contributors, Laura from Bilbao, has her own site with excellent information and videos from beginner onwards. Often they have 2 or 3 posts on the same subject including reading, audio and a vocabulary list. They too have covered prefixes and suffixes.
I do not know the type of topics you will have to write about, but assume you have done some in class. Perhaps you could post an example your teacher gave you so we have an idea of style. It is important to be accurate so revise your verbs especially the irregular ones and try and work on some good adjectives and adverbs, Some of things I can think of will introduce the subjunctive, but if you haven't learned it yet, you cannot be marked down for not using it.
I assume you will either be writing about something you like/love/dislike/hate or are bored by so learn the verbs. Make sure you know the little words like 'ya' and 'también'
Hopefully Daniela with her teachers skill will join in.
Do you learn mainly idioms and pronunciation from Spain?
