He is just the latest from a string of trouble makers posting a string of nuisance threads.

I have banned him but can't ban the IP address because it is probably an internet café or a school PC.

Example: 103.41.144.160 was not able to be banned

The mods are doing their best but we have had 100s of these threads recently.

Here is another one deleted and banned.

Please use the Feedback option to complain to SD administrators.

Thank you.

Thank you for posting this, Ian. - rac1, Feb 19, 2016
Yes, thanks Ian, yesterday evening there were so many that I couldn't even find the ' palabra del día', I gave up, the whole site was covered in advertising threads. - annierats, Feb 19, 2016
More "spam" - 00cc0117, Feb 19, 2016
There are more. Given title it is obvious so I haven't opened and flagged - or does this help? - Mardle, Feb 19, 2016

Hi Ian,

Thanks so much for flagging the spammy user/post issue and for helping to combat it! I just deleted every spam post I could find and banned 3 new users. Please keep us posted if you see any more spammy users/posts which we'll remove.

¡Gracias mil!

Stuart

We keep deleting and banning, but it's one right after another. We just finished with some. Thanks for the help. Hopefully you got my e-mails about this issue. - rac1, Feb 19, 2016
If this is not stopped SD will cease to exist. - ian-hill, Feb 19, 2016
For the past several days, this has been happening. Ray, Ian and I have been deleting and banning, but they just keep coming. Not one or two posts, but pages and pages of it, each time. - rac1, Feb 19, 2016
I have no doubt the mods are doing what they can. I think at this point the most appropriate thing is to let the mods explore with the owners what can be done while the rest of us just simply try to ignore the fairly easily identifiable posts. :) - bosquederoble, Feb 19, 2016
Agreed. I don't even open them to flag. - Mardle, Feb 19, 2016
Thanks Mardle and Bosque. - rac1, Feb 19, 2016

Thank you mods , I really appreciate all of the work you are doing to stop the spammer(s), It is not only annoying to us but to you guys as well, hopefully we can stop this madness soon, and keep the nuisance ad (or random letters) gone for good, so we can help our members learn better.

Once again, thank you to everyone who is working on solving this problem.

I note that the mods have been very good at cleaning it up as quickly as possible, but I also note that the attacks have been ongoing.

I am wondering if we have any idea as to why we are being specifically targeted, and whether trying to figure that out might help. This may have already been considered and anybody who is attacking in this way may not be capable of rational discourse, so I bring up the idea only on the off chance someone thinks it might be a helpful approach that has not been tried, but recognizing that it may have already been considered and rejected.

Hi Bosque. Stuart and his team are working on this issue. Thanks for your input. Please send it to them. - rac1, Feb 25, 2016
I am just worried about the mods burning out- I can see all the work you have to do. - bosquederoble, Feb 25, 2016
Do we know whether it's a human being or a bot? - AnnRon, Feb 25, 2016
It is individual humans using different SD names and different IP addresses. :) - ian-hill, Feb 25, 2016

I have sent my letter of complaint to the admins suggesting that a profile MUST be completed before posting anything.

Going to the translator is no problem anybody can do that. But in order to post, a person MUST be required to provide a profile- with ALL items completed. Language levels, gender, location and a short bio. I did this the day I first came on to the site--even before posting my first answer.

If these nuisance posts continue, no regular member will continue to post. Sincere newbies will see nothing but confusion, and the admins will lose their profits from the sponsors and nobody will be using Fluencia.

It's that serious folks!!

It would be the end of SD - the mods cannot patrol the site 24/7. - ian-hill, Feb 19, 2016

It would appear that SD programmers have succeeded in ridding us of the rats who posted 1000s of nuisance threads.

Well done amigos.

And well done, mods, for keeping the disruption to a minimum while the fix was being discovered and implemented. - AnnRon, Feb 26, 2016
