I saw a message on my other halfs phone that read just "Chiquilla Fea...." no other message but that. After looking up, I see it can mean little one, little girl, but also baby, and baby girl, etc but in this form I read it as Pretty baby... Am I wrong on this?

Fea is ugly.

Betty la fea.

Ugly Betty.

However, in Spanish these terms are also used figuratively.

It did not matter the size of the person but one elderly woman called everyone "gordo/a" meaning fat. Another person "viejo/a" old no matter their age.
