Chango Platnero

Question

My husband always says he is a "Chango Platenero". This is literally translating to Banana Monkey in my head...but I hardly believe that is the true meaning. I know it is slang but cannot find it anywhere on the internet! What is he saying because he just laughs when I translate it. He is from El Salvador if that helps you reference it.
