"Se" de el verbo ser

"Se" de el verbo ser

Me preguntaba algo.

None of these “se”s are from ser.

The first is from saber- sé is the yo form of saber:

Como en una canción que yo sé- Like a song that I know. One might consider the yo superfluous- but I like it to keep straight that it is from saber.

The others are pronominal uses of the pronoun se.

With out the se it would say a sick child cures...and needs an object.

Like above.

la tormenta se calmará- the storm calmed itself- the storm calmed down- essentially reflexive- the se is necessary for a transitive verb to make the subject also the object.

Sé from ser is the tú command, here is an example:

Sé tú mismo- be yourself

Thanks! You helped a lot, but como en una canción que yo sé are my own words. Didn't really have a question on that usage, but thanks anyway! :) that clears up my other questions a ton! Thanks! - Heimstein, Jan 30, 2016
Did some more research on passive construction. Thank again for your answer! - Heimstein, Jan 30, 2016
De nada. Se as a pronominal pronoun is a very difficult subject. :) - bosquederoble, Jan 30, 2016
