How to say that something is "under-fire"?

Question

I want to say that a concept comes under-fire nowadays, but have no idea how to do that. I've tried looking for it, and the only thing I find is "bajo fuego" which, I'm pretty sure, is not the right phrase (it seems too literal). How exactly would you phrase it?

Contextually: "El concepto del apaciguamiento, hoy en dia, es ____________."

This is what I might say: El concepto de apaciguamiento, en la actualidad, es criticado, es atacado, está bajo la lupa.

A pastor friend of mine is always complaining about being "criticado'

"Caer bajo fuego enemigo" is used both militarily as well as figuratively.
