There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Antonio Bombal, mi maestro de afinación, fue el hombre más urbano que nunca he conocido.

Antonio Bombal, who taught me to tune pianos, was the most urbane man I have ever known.

Hay ciudades donde hacen todo para mejorar el transporte urbano, conformando paquetes de apoyo a la movilidad urbana para que promuevan el transporte ecológico.

There are cities where they do everything to improve urban transport, forming packages of support for urban mobility to promote environmentally friendly transport.

Desde qué la tecnología ha comenzado a evolucionar, jugar en las calles urbanas ha perdido su valor.

Since technology has started to evolve, playing in urban streets has lost its value.

No soy parcial a la forma de vida urbana. Prefiero una bella vista a en donde pueda respirar aire fresco.

I'm not partial to the urban lifestyle. I prefer an open view where I can breathe fresh air.

No me gusta conducir por el centro urbano de una ciudad desconocida, hay tanta información, tantas señales para decirnos que está prohibido aparcar, está prohibido el cambio de carril y tampoco se puede parar para leer las señales ni para buscar donde están los aparcamientos. Ahora, si tengo que visitar una ciudad grande prefiero coger el tren.

I don't like driving in unknown city centers, there is so much information, so many signs telling us that it is forbidden to park, it is forbidden to change lanes , nor can you stop to read the signs in order to find out where the car-parks might be . These days, if I have to visit a big city I prefer to take a train.

I particularily hate signs, which say it's forbidden to park but you may park on odd/even days between 9-11 am or pm or something like this which is impossible to figure out, whilst driving. - annierats, Jan 22, 2016
I know amiga , how the heck do you read them with out stopping, but I guess you get used to it the more you go out and drive, but I would not know since I have never been behind the wheel. - Nickelbackfan1, Jan 22, 2016

The urban area is sometimes the busiest place in some of the big cities like New York .

El área urbano a veces es el lugar más concurrido en algunas de las grandes ciudades como Nueva York.

Hay gente que disfrutan las llanuras bellezas, pero siempre me he gustado los áreas urbanos.

There are people that enjoy beautiful plains, but I have always liked urban areas.

Supongo que no soy lo suficiente urbano para apreciar la alta costura, y continuaré vistiéndome de ropa algo rústica, pero quizás algún día el mundo de la moda me alcance.

I suppose that I am not sufficiently urbane to appreciate high fashion, and will continue to dress myself in somewhat rustic clothes, but perhaps someday the fashion world will catch up with me.

En las ciudades parece que hay más trabajo, más dinero y más actividades, así que muchas personas son atraídas desde el campo y los pueblos para vivir in las areas urbanas. Desafortunadamente finalmente hay demasiadas personas en la ciudad y la vida se hace bastante difícil.

In cities it seems there is more work, more money and more activities, so many people are attracted from the country and the villages to live in the urban areas. Unfortunately finally there are too many people in the city and life becomes quite difficult.
