Spanish essay about last Christmas
Another essay making use of past tenses, which I don't think i'm very good at! Any help and feedback would be great. Thanks!

Para la Navidad del año pasado fui a visitar a mi familia en Birmingham. Celebramos en casa de mi madre esta vez, en lugar de casa de mis primos. Mi abuela, hermano, tía, tío y sus dos hijos llegaron al mediodía y comenzamos a abrir los regalos. Esto duró dos horas y fue muy aburrido. Mi padrastro llegó a casa a las dos de la tarde porque trabajaba más temprano en el día. Después de eso, era tiempo para el almuerzo de Navidad. Teníamos pavo asado, patatas, coles de Bruselas, zanahorias (muchas verduras), salchichas, salsa de arándanos y finalmente la tarta de manzana. Era increíble, el más bonito que nuestro habitual almuerzo de domingo. Tan pronto como habíamos terminado, observamos la televisión y tocaba varios juegos. Después de un agotador día regresaron a casa y mi hermano, mi madre y yo bebimos la ginebra y el whisky por un largo tiempo.

For Christmas last year I went home to visit my family in Birmingham. We celebrated at my mother’s house this time instead of my cousin’s house. My grandmother, brother, aunt, uncle and their two children arrived at midday and we started to open the presents. This took two hours and was very boring. My stepfather came home at two in the afternoon because he was working earlier in the day. After that, it was time for the Christmas lunch. We had roast turkey, potatoes, sprouts, carrots (lots of vegetables), sausages, cranberry sauce and finally apple pie. It was amazing, nicer than our usual Sunday lunch. As soon as we'd finished, we watched television and played too many games. After a tiring day they went home and my brother, mother and I drank gin and whiskey for a long time.
