Is there a similar phrase in Spanish of the English idiom: "Gild the lily"

Collins English/Spanish Dictionary suggests "embellecer lo perfecto," to embellish perfection. Seem right to me.

"gild the lily" in British English See all translations gild the lily disapproving› to ?improve or ?decorate something that is already ?perfect and ?therefore ?spoil it: ex: Should I ?add a ?scarf to this ?jacket or would it be ?gilding the ?lily?

According to the Oxford English/ Spanish Dictionary (4th edn):

To gild /paint the lily = Rizar el rizo
