What is the difference in usage between 'pelo' and 'cabello'?

"Pelo" is generally used to speak of your "hair" as a total of all that stuff on your head.

"Cabello" is used to speak of each individual hair.

Now after saying that, I have also heard the reverse and other variations. What I have given here is what is usually found in the textbooks.

One is very limited and the other is more versatile in how to describe types of hair and fur.

Put each one in the available dictionary to learn more.
