enfermar and enfermarse

Question

What is the difference in enfermar and enfermarse. I know that enfermarse is reflexive, but when do you use enfermar and when enfermarse.

Enfermarse to get sick. Julian's sentence: El mes pasado me enfermé bien feo con la gripe. Last month I got real sick with the grippe. (sort of like the flu)

Enfermar: to sicken or make someone or something sick.

Julian's second sentence: Vas a enfermar el perro se lo sacas a la calle con temperaturas de bajo cero.

You are are going to make the dog sick if you take him out into the street with temperatures below zero.

Since you are a beginner I translated the sentences for you. Julian's Spanish is way beyond beginner.

Enfermarse (intransitive verb) ... To become ill,ie: El mes pasado me enfermé bien feo con la gripe.

Enfermar (transitive verb). Vas a enfermar el perro si lo sacas a la calle con temperaturas de bajo cero.
