I may be remembering incorrectly, but I thought the stress on the singular was put on the "lar,", so it would sound like "doLAR." Now the plural I know would have the stress on the first syllable, so "DOlares." - Winkfish, Dec 22, 2015

Some extra info: The "ir + a + infinitive" structure is called the informal future. It translates to "subject + are/is/am going to + infinitive" with the subject identified by the conjugation of "ir." eg "Voy a infinitive"="I am going to infinitive" or "Van a infinitive"="They are going to infinitive" etc. There is a lesson here.
